Two Days Agribusiness Expo Kicks off in Karimabad :-

The vibrant agribusiness sector of Gilgit-Baltistan took center stage today as the much-anticipated Two-Day Agribusiness Expo commenced in Karimabad, Hunza. The event was inaugurated by Col (R) Abaid Ullah Baig, Member Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly (GBLA-6), in the presence of senior officials from the Economic Transformation Initiative Gilgit-Baltistan (ETI-GB) and the Gilgit-Baltistan Rural Support Program (GBRSP).

Organized collaboratively by ETI-GB and GBRSP, the expo provides a platform for over 40 Village Agriculture Cooperatives (VACs) and private business entities to showcase their agricultural products and share innovative business ideas.

In his address, Col (R) Abaid Ullah Baig lauded the efforts of ETI-GB and GBRSP for uniting farmers from across the region. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in empowering farmers, encouraging knowledge exchange, and strengthening the agricultural economy of Gilgit-Baltistan.

The event attracted not only the general public but also a significant number of local and foreign tourists, who expressed great interest in Gilgit-Baltistan’s natural and organic agricultural products.

Barkat Ali, Deputy Program Coordinator at ETI-GB, and Ashfaq Ahmed, General Manager of GBRSP, urged participants to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by the expo. Their speeches highlighted the potential of collaborative efforts in transforming Gilgit-Baltistan’s agribusiness landscape.

The expo has garnered wide coverage from both print and digital media, further amplifying its impact. The event will continue tomorrow, concluding with key discussions and presentations aimed at enhancing the growth and sustainability of the region’s agricultural sector.
